Lancet Cross Window

This Lancet window is going to be an awesome challenge.

Shown on the right is the first rendering of this vision.

There’s a reason I’m making these and I’ll share that very soon. Saying less and listening more until then. 🙏

A place I know.

Most of the Sunset Crosses I paint are not places I know or have seen in person. But, this one, is a place I know in my heart.

When the boys were young things were very tight… Brandi worked weekends and I always tried to take off on the weekends to spend time with the boys. Maybe to just pretend that it wasn’t that bad and to also just to celebrate what we had. We couldn’t afford to take them to Chuck E Cheese, the movies, or other places you could take the kids to be “entertained.”

I had to get creative and go to places that we could spend time at, pack a lunch, and not spend any money. Gas a gallon was more than I made in an hour so we couldn’t go far either.

I recalled one day that little boardwalk on the river in downtown Milton, FL that I used to go to in college to get away and study between classes. It was a peaceful place and always refreshed me being there.

Boy was it different on the weekends though! I had no idea… The boys loved it though! There were jet ski’s and fast boats always cruising by and we’d walk the shores carefully looking for unique things.

We didn’t do much there most times we went but just sit and watch the world go by together. :)

And of course, we couldn’t leave until we got to see a train go over this turn style trestle over the entrance to the bay.

This is that place. Milton FLorida.

Glory of God

The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of his craftsmanship. Day and night they keep on telling about God. Without a sound or word, silent in the skies, their message reaches out to all the world. Psalm 19:1-4 TLB

It has been since 2019 that these were last made. I’m picking up where I left off at number 55. The first four shown are made of cypress like the last ones. Then, I switched over to Maple for the next one and loved how brilliant the colors were on it!

They will be Maple from now on. 🙂

These new Sunset Crosses will be on a new page called “Sunset Crosses” on our website Sunday night at 8c.

Dreaming of Autumn

Can you tell that I am ready for Autumn?

These little trees started out all green.

But, as I wiped the sweat from my brow I couldn’t help but move to the next season and imagine the cool breezes to come. 🍁

New Sunset Crosses coming soon!

He makes it grow

It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.

Joshua 1:9

Today we received a gift from the Joshua19Foundation. This is not a faceless foundation. This calling and ministry began with the parents of PFC Joshua M Islam.

JOSH'S STORY

Josh always strived to be the best that he could be. His dream was to be a Marine, the best of the best. Before he left for boot camp, his mom marked the verse, Joshua 1:9 in his Bible. He found this verse during training and received a dog tag bearing the same verse upon graduation. He graduated ITB/SOI as PFC and was selected to train to be a recon Marine at Camp Pendleton. Josh died near the end of his first day of training, but his legacy lives on. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. God is with you." Joshua 1:9
