One at a time
Would it be easier to precut a bulk amount of ribbons, put them in a box, and have them ready? Yes.
But, I prefer to make them one at a time and at the same time I make the cross that they will wrap around. They are made together, to fit together.
The person that this Cross of Hope is made for hasn’t been going through anything that is “easy.”
I’m not going to make it easy on myself in making them.
They are not a random person to me either and their ribbon won’t be a random one picked out of a box.
I just read your email Michael explaining what you’ve been going through and what God has done in healing you. As you said. You were given an 8% chance to live. And that in turn gave God a 92% chance to heal you.
You are a miracle! I’m blown away my Brother.

New Navy Coin
The new U.S. Navy challenge coin for the Divine Sailor’s Cross!
Some of the things I cannot control are the making and designing of challenge coins. I kind of have to get what’s available or left over.
This will be the third design I’ve had to use for this Sailor’s cross since 2018.
It’s fitting, because the Navy designs and changes things more often than any other branch of service.
I have liked all three of them so far though! 🙂

When the Storms come.
It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.
Isaiah 4:6
It was my birthday, I was turning 40. That night I was putting the last of the siding up on the barn.
A storm came over the fields with quite a punch as the sun set.
As I screwed in the last piece of wood separating the inside from the outside, the wind became deafening.
It was too late to run inside the house for shelter. It was a little scary I admit. We built this place with our own two hands and only using three tools.
It was about to be tested...
I sat down on the floor against the Northwest wall of the barn which is what the wind was hitting the hardest. I could feel the wall swaying slightly with every gust. I could hear the cracks and groans of the poles as they were being tested.
I just sat there talking with God.
I was nervous.
But, he had us build this place for a reason. I trusted that he had me use all screws and no nails for a reason. I trusted that he had me do extra stuff that was code for structures built right on the water that weren’t “needed.” I trusted that he had us put every board in its place for a reason.
In short, I finished that heart to heart with these words.
I Trust You Lord.
It’s weathered many storms since that night in the past 9 years. God willing, it will weather many more.
When a storm comes. I feel safer in here than anywhere else. Working on crosses for Him.
Hope in the Lord.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. Romans 5:3

I know it’s not easy waiting on God to reveal His plans for life.
Please, hang in there a little longer. His timing is perfect.

This is a time dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives in the line of duty. 💙
