This Light of the World Cross is made of solid spalted/ambrosia maple. This type of wood is from a living Silver or Red Maple tree that has been fallen for some time. It is in a way, resurrected and given a new purpose as lumber to tell it’s beautiful story. The half globe is also made of turned Maple and the shape of the continents are burned into it. It is then finished to match the Spalted/ambrosia Maple it is attached to.
